SPS Academy was originally founded by Petr Ropek in 2021 with a vision to bring a unique European approach to youth sports development in the Bay Area. After its first years of operation, the Academy paused its programs in 2023.

During the following years, Stanford Park Sports continued to grow, building strong relationships with schools and families and earning the trust of communities throughout the Bay Area. This foundation of hard work, experience, and community trust ultimately paved the way for the return of SPS Academy in 2026.

With the relaunch, Petr brought Vladimir Nemcok on board as Head Coach, combining their European basketball backgrounds, coaching experience, and shared passion for developing young athletes. The goal was simple: to build one of the leading youth sports academies in the Bay Area.

SPS Academy is built around a European coaching philosophy that emphasizes discipline, hard work, sports IQ, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for the game.

Today, SPS Academy offers high-level programs in basketball, soccer, and tennis, providing athletes with the coaching, environment, and mindset needed to reach their full potential. Our internationally experienced coaching team is committed to developing not only better players, but also confident, disciplined, resilient, and well-rounded young athletes.

Through its connection with Stanford Park Sports and the Stanford Park Sports Foundation, SPS Academy continues to expand opportunities for young athletes and raise the standard of youth sports coaching throughout the Bay Area.
